The humble apple can make a delicious low-calorie dessert for those who want something sweet, healthy, without a lot of calories. A dessert that provides fiber, good fat, antioxidants and a crunchy texture…. shocking!
What will we need?
2 Apples
1/2 fl. apple juice
4 tbsp Brown sugar
1/4 tbsp. cinnamon
1/4 tbsp. nutmeg
1 fl. oats
A little salt
2 Tbsp chilled almond butter
Low-fat milk cream or vegetable whipped cream
chopped almonds
…and we create!
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. After chopping, mix the apples with the apple juice, 2 spoons of brown sugar, 1/8 cinnamon, 1/8 nutmeg in a large bowl. In another bowl, mix the oats, the other 2 spoons of brown sugar, the rest of the cinnamon and nutmeg and add a little salt. Add the butter and almonds to this mixture and mix them all together with your fingers.
Divide the apple mixture into 4 parts and place them in baking bowls or on a baking tray lined with non-stick paper, spaced apart. On top of the apple mixture, add the oat mixture and bake for 25 minutes or until the mixture turns brown. If it’s not browned enough, raise the oven temperature a bit in the last minute.
Serve them with a generous dollop of sour cream or vegetable whipped cream.
